I have once again been reminded in these last couple of days that even when the dark seems dominant, there’s always light. There will be emails from friends you haven’t heard of in a while, warming your heart. There will be former strangers saying just the right things to hit it off on that exciting road to getting to know a fellow human being. There will be things falling into place, even if other things are not yet or never will be mended.
There will be hope springing from all of this, chasing the dark away for whichever short time, and your burden will lighten.
Also, I was reminded that reaching out, asking for help, or helping without being asked help mending the world. Writing a letter, sending a parcel, and receiving one; giving another chance, and receiving one – these things go a long way. And I hope they will keep happening for all of us. Again, and again, and again.
