The best change we have made to our place is to finally get rid of our TV. Every time I talk about this, I am reminded of Joey from “Friends” asking “but where’s all your furniture pointed at?” – but that’s exactly the point. One of the points. First of all, it’s freeing to have a living room that’s used for actual living, not passive watching. Secondly, none of us feels like something’s missing. If there is a show or movie I really want to watch, I either rent the DVD or watch it on the net. And thirdly, I think it’s good for kids to learn how to play before they start watching TV.
